Rebekah Modica (Dartford) says...
I have had a fantastic year training with Pitmans. It has enabled me to gain new skills which are valued in the job market making me an asset to employers. It has also increased my own self-confidence and self-belief as I look at my certificates with a sense of achievement, knowing that if I really want to I can succeed in anythng when I put my mind to it.

I enjoyed coming into the centre. The staff were always pleasant and friendly and you were made to feel welcome. If you had a problem or query they would always sort it for you even if you were being a bit thick!!!!! You could work at your own pace and not feel rushed. So if there was something you weren't getting you could go over it again and again until you got it right without being pushed to finish that particular module.

When I first came into the centre I just wanted advice on courses available and the cost. Kirsty sat with me and explained how everything works and I agreed to go away and think about it. I discussed it with my husband as to do the course was a big expense for us. We decided to take the plunge and to view it as an investment for the future. And I have to say I have never regretted that decision. I have really enjoyed the learning itself and knowing that it will give me greater opportunities for the future is an added bonus! My whole working life has always been in retail up until this point. So while training I decided to search for a job within the medical field to gain some admin experience as I work towards my medical secretarial diploma. I was successful in gaining a position as a Ward Clerk/Receptionist in a small hospital and I am sure the fact that I put on my application that I am currently studying with Pitmans went a long way to my being appointed.

I had no knowledge of audio typing or medical terminology. Pitman training helped me a lot. Now i can audio-type 50 wpm. I also know medical terminology enough to work in any medical speciality. I am definitely very confident now.

A big thank you to the staff at Bromley (Kerri, Celeste, Eddie and Cheryl) for all their help. It gave me the confidence and courage to go out there again. I am now a medical secretary in a doctors office in London.
